Malaysian comedian Dr Jason Leong announces Brain Drain shows for September
MELBOURNE, AU (August 17 2023) – Malaysian comedian DR JASON LEONG is making a triumphant return to Australia with his highly acclaimed show BRAIN DRAIN. In Brain Drain, former medical doctor and Malaysia’s funniest comedian (his words!), Dr Jason Leong explains why he will be leaving Malaysia for good. After a successful comedy run earlier this year, Jason Leong will bring Brain Drain to Gold Coast’s HOTA Lakeside Room, Canberra’s Street Theatre, and Newcastle Comedy Club this September.

Dr Jason Leong has had a hectic couple of years, becoming the first comedian from Southeast Asia to have TWO comedy specials on Netflix - Hashtag Blessed (2020) and Ride With Caution (2023). He returns to Australia after putting his name well and truly on the world comedy map after selling out the global tour of his previous show Heaty, which culminated in Leong becoming the first Malaysian comic to appear at the prestigious invite-only Just For Laughs in Montreal.
Since he turned to comedy, Leong has been featured on Comedy Central, and performed in India, Dubai, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He was the first Malaysian to perform at Laugh Factory in Hollywood, as well as the prestigious Comedy Cellar, Caroline’s At Broadway and Gotham Comedy Club in New York City.
