Les Misérables – The Arena Spectacular shatters records at Sydney's ICC Theatre

Les Misérables – The Arena Spectacular has arrived in Sydney and has already broken house records. 

The 15 performances to be presented at the ICC Theatre have broken the venue record for the most performances and highest ticket sales for any presentation at the venue.

The ICC Theatre has presented Live Nation Australasia Chairman, Michael Coppel, with a special award to commemorate the show's record-breaking feats. 

Michael Coppel commented:Live Nation Australia is proud that the inaugural Australian season of 'Les Misérables – The Arena Spectacular' has been a resounding success at the ICC Theatre in Sydney.

The show's 40th Anniversary Arena Spectacular will perform at the Sydney venue 15 times. The previous record was held by Guy Sebastian in 2022 for a five-concert run. 

From Sydney, Les Misérables - The Arena Spectacular will travel to Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena and Brisbane's Entertainment Centre.

The London production of LES MISÉRABLES, the World’s longest running musical, has entered its incredible 40th record-breaking year, still playing to sell out audiences. To celebrate this extraordinary milestone, Cameron Mackintosh has put together the most spectacular Arena production of a musical ever staged which has played to rave reviews and sold-out Arenas in the UK and major European cities, before it arrives in Australia, FOR FIVE WEEKS ONLY. The World Tour then heads to Japan, Taiwan, China, and several other Asian countries before it returns to Europe and now, after its rapturous reception, is planning to extend across America and Canada.

LES MISÉRABLES THE ARENA SPECTACULAR has an extraordinary and exciting new design, specifically created for these venues, from the world class team of Matt Kinley, Paule Constable, Warren Letton and Finn Ross with sound by Mick Potter, featuring an international cast and orchestra of over 65 including many famous LES MIS stars, as well as several brilliant new ones.

The cast includes Alfie Boe and Killian Donnelly sharing the role of Jean Valjean, and Michael Ball and Bradley Jaden sharing the role of Javert, alongside Matt Lucas as ThénardierMarina Prior as Madame ThénardierRachelle Ann Go as FantineJac Yarrow as MariusBeatrice Penny-Touré as CosetteJames D. Gish as Enjolras and Earl Carpenter as the Bishop of Digne. The casting for the role of Eponine will be announced soon.
