ICEHOUSE will be joined by Australian dance music luminaries, Sneaky Sound System and blues & soul artist, Karen Lee Andrews.

Of the concert, Iva Davies said, “The band and I are greatly looking forward to performing at Sydney Opera House in December. Having such a great line-up with Sneaky Sound System and Karen Lee Andrews is going to make it a fun evening down on Sydney Harbour. I’m also glad that we will perform in the 50th anniversary year of Sydney Opera House with which I personally have a long history, having played in an orchestra in July 1973 at the first performances in the then-new building of two operas, Sitsky's 'Fall of the House of Usher' and Penberthy's ‘Dalgarie’.  In addition to being the first operas ever performed at Sydney Opera House, these were very special events as the operas were created by Australian composers and librettists and performed by Australian musicians and singers. I look forward to performing yet again at Sydney Opera House and bringing ICEHOUSE’s music to the forecourt”.

With a career spanning over 45 years, ICEHOUSE is one of Australia’s most iconic bands, transcending age groups with their hit songs, well-known and loved by audiences across generations, playing to sell-out, capacity audiences in Australia, New Zealand and throughout the World.

Formed by Iva Davies, the band’s frontman and musical creative force, ICEHOUSE went on to have an amazing 28 Platinum albums, eight Top 10 albums and over thirty Top 40 singles. ICEHOUSE’s unofficial Australian anthem, Great Southern Land, is 40 years old and the band will be on tour in 2022 and 2023 to celebrate the song that’s been the soundtrack to everything from discussions about Mabo and the soundtrack to the Australian cricket team walking on the field, to having a plane named after it.

Great Southern Land has been a part of almost every Australian’s summer soundtrack for the past 40 years and in 2014, it was inducted into the National Film and Sound Archive’s Sounds of Australia registry. It’s also been remixed several times, most notably, Bill Laswell’s The Great Southern Mix, clocking in at almost 16 minutes, and the Byrralku Dhangudha remix from 1994 which features Indigenous musicians playing and singing the chorus in their own language. Its message is as current and relevant today as it was when it first appeared.

Sneaky Sound System, comprised of Vocalist Miss Connie and DJ/producer Angus McDonald, started making music together in 2004. Three chart-topping and critically acclaimed albums, vocal contributions to albums by Kanye West and Jay-Z, a collaboration with Tiesto (that took them to the top of both the US and UK dance airplay charts), a nomination in the international DJ Awards, and multiple ARIA and APRA Award wins and nominations cemented their reputation as one of the most dynamic and unique electronic acts in the world today. Angus and Connie are based in Sydney, Australia. Their new single, Fire Keeps Burning is a collaboration with legendary producer John Dahlbäck and is out now.

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Karen Lee Andrews burst onto the scene following her success on The Voice, where she battled it out to reach the finals. However, surrounded by music her entire life, Karen’s career to date has largely revolved around classic soul and rhythm and blues sounds. In recent years, as her musicality has evolved, she’s been leaning more towards blues with a nod to dirty rock and power ballads. The influence of soul, gospel and Karen’s Polynesian background continues to inform what she does, but the blues has come to feel more like home.
