Guy Montgomery Adds Guy Mont-Spelling Bee Show At Auckland Comedy Festival
AUCKLAND, NZ (Wednesday, March 8 2023) – After a hugely successful debut in 2022, Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee is back baby! Coming to Auckland’s Q Theatre this May, get ready to experience the only show brave enough to fuse spelling, comedy and a late start time. Will it succeed? Almost definitely, the show was a sellout at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival last year and has since been adapted for television on TV3.
Through five excruciating rounds, Guy will test some of the festival's best comedians on their ability to spell different words. The show is designed to be infuriating to take part in and entertaining to watch.

An award-winning Kiwi stand-up comedian, podcaster and improviser, in 2021, Guy won the Best Male Comedian Award at the NZ Comedy Guild Awards for the third time, having collected it previously in 2017 and 2020.
Over the past few years, Guy Montgomery has taped sets for Comedy Central US and Just For Laughs in Montreal, starred in Taskmaster New Zealand, had sold out runs at the invitation-only Just For Laughs festival, Edinburgh Fringe and MICF, as well as toured his hugely successful podcast The Worst Idea of All Time across Australia, America and the UK. In New Zealand, Guy has appeared on Taskmaster, 7 Days and Have You Been Paying Attention?.
