Human Nature: The Christmas Show

ON THE STEPS is an annual series of outdoor concerts, celebrating the start of Summer in the Harbour City in the very best way that only Sydney can do!  With the iconic Sydney Harbour in the foreground and alongside the Sydney Opera House, ON THE STEPS welcomes locals and visitors to enjoy an evening of entertainment with one of the best views in the world.

Of the series, Luke Hede, Vice President of Touring Live Nation Australia says,

On The Steps is one of Australia’s most unique concert series, set in a stunning location in our country’s most iconic venue, the Sydney Opera House. This year’s line-up features a mix of Australian legends and first class international talent, and has fans travelling from all corners of the country to salute the start of summer with the very best in live music!”

Hannah Mason, Director of Production & Events Sydney Opera House says,

“We’re thrilled to welcome Live Nation’s On the Steps series back to the Sydney Opera House Forecourt this December. Watching artists perform against the beautiful harbour backdrop is a highlight of our summer program of events and we can’t wait for audiences to experience this impressive Australian and international line-up over 12 nights.”

Multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Daniel Caesar opens On The Steps on December 1 and 2. Daniel is one of the most critically and commercially successful artists today and one of the most exciting performers in contemporary R&B.

The War On Drugs return to Sydney for the first time since 2018 with special guests Spoon, plus Indigo Sparke..  Led by Adam Granduciel, the GRAMMY-Award winning band has steadily emerged as one of this century’s greatest rock and roll synthesis, removing the gaps between the underground and the mainstream, between the obtuse and the anthemic, making records that wrestle and fractured past into unified and engrossing present.

Irish singer/songwriter Dermot Kennedy returns to Australia on the back of his new album Sonder.  Dermot spent three years working on this album, writing the 13 songs on the album while he was riding the success his debut album Without Fear, which has since sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide. Sonder has songs full of brilliant one-liners, lyrics that make you think, vocals that soar and stories of love and life that hit you deep in the gut.

Synthony is a spectacular blend of The Metropolitan Orchestra and electronic dance classics plus spine-tingling vocalists, DJs, and a breathtaking array of immersive lighting and visuals. With support from Bag Raiders (live) andDick Johnson.

Following an incredible 2022 tour celebrating 40 years of the seminal song, ‘Great Southern Land’ ICEHOUSE will rock the forecourt with a show promising an unforgettable and uniquely Australian experience under the stars. Icehouse will be joined by Australian dance music luminaries, Sneaky Sound System and blues & soul artist, Karen Lee Andrews

Guy Sebastian returns to the Sydney Opera House Forecourt for his only live shows of the year as he marks 20 years since he was crowned Australia’s very first Australian Idol. It was in this very same venue, on November 19, 200where Australia crowned him the winner. Guy will be joined by 2023 Australian Idol winner Royston Noell and unannounced surprise guests on Sunday December 10 and Monday December 11.

And lastly, Human Nature will celebrate the holidays with their special Christmas show. The foursome will be joined by special guest Dami Im and greet the festive season with all the big Christmas favourites and some special surprises as they close the concert series on Wednesday 13 December.

2023 marks Live Nation’s second year of running On The Steps and is exclusively curated for the Sydney Opera House Forecourt. Tickets for all shows are on sale now from https://www.livenation.com.au
