The Western Australian Government, through Tourism WA, and Live Nation are thrilled to announce that due to extraordinary demand during today’s presale, Coldplay, will now add a second Perth concert as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour.
This second history making event will take place on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Perth’s Optus Stadium. An Australian-exclusive, the tour is expected to drive thousands of visitors to Western Australia to experience an incredible performance, injecting millions into the local economy.
The new show for Sunday, November 19 will go onsale at 10am tomorrow, Tuesday, May 16.
There will be no presales, no registrations and no codes required. ALL tickets for the new event will go onsale to the general public at 10am (AWST) at livenation.com.au.
*There will also be a limited amount of tickets released for the first show on Saturday, November 18.
Coldplay have also confirmed they will make a limited number of Infinity Tickets available for the two Perth shows at a later date. Infinity Tickets are released for every Coldplay show to make the Music Of The Spheres World Tour accessible to fans for an affordable price. They will cost just $40 AUD per ticket. They are restricted to a maximum of two tickets per purchaser, and must be bought in pairs (which will be located next to each other).
Support on this new event will be provided by Australian multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Tash Sultana, along with Thelma Plum, who will each perform standalone sets.
WA’s Deputy Premier, the Hon. Roger Cook, said, “The reaction to Coldplay coming to Perth as part of their Asian tour has been phenomenal.
“It’s fantastic news that there will now be two concerts because it will ensure even more people from WA get to see Coldplay’s amazing live show.
“The stars are shining again on Western Australia. This is going to be massive weekend to remember.”
Mr Luke Hede, Vice President of Touring, Live Nation Entertainment, commented, “Due to unprecedented demand, Coldplay will be adding a second show in Perth for their Music of the Spheres tour. It’s incredible to see that thousands of fans are keen to travel from all over the country and across Asia to see the world’s biggest band play a historic event in Western Australia.”
After a triumphant 2022 where Coldplay sold more concert tickets than any other artist and broke attendance records around the world, the iconic band - who won Tour of The Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards - will bring their spectacular stadium show, bursting with lasers, fireworks and LED wristbands to Perth, where they will perform classic hits such as “Yellow”, “Viva La Vida”, “Clocks”, “A Sky Full Of Stars” and “My Universe”.
Since kicking off in March 2022, the Music Of The Spheres World Tour has sold over six million tickets across Europe, North America, and Latin America, receiving rave reviews from fans and critics alike, with The Times calling it ‘the greatest live music show ever’, the Dallas Observer acclaiming the visuals as “mind-blowing” and the Houston Chronicle describing the band’s performance as “pure joy”.
The Australian-exclusive performance will be promoted alongside hotel packages designed to encourage visitors to stay longer and explore further.
