Australian Idol 2023 winner Royston Noel set to open for Guy Sebastian at Sydney Opera House Double Decade celebration next month

SYDNEY, AU (NOVEMBER 15, 2023) – On the week of the release of Australian Idol winner Royston Noell’s new co-written single ‘Dreaming’, Royston received the news that his own idol has offered the talented singer the coveted opening support of Guy Sebastian’s XX Double Decade Celebration shows at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on December 10th & 11th.
Guy says “I am thrilled that Royston will perform for these two special shows at the Sydney Opera House next month! He has the most beautiful heart, and I really wanted him to experience a moment with our fans in the most spectacular outdoor venue in Australia!”

Royston Noell, a proud Thanakwith and Wagadagam man from Mapoon, on the tip of Cape York, inspired and thrilled fans when he won the eighth season of Australian Idol, which returned to screens in 2023 after a 14 year hiatus. The songs and lyrics to the new single ‘Dreaming’ hark back to a time when the young artist had to make some difficult and life changing decisions – leaving home and family for the big city, what to do with my life? – big decisions that many young Australians are making at this time of year. Royston’s powerful new single is inspiring and uplifting, both lyrically and sonically; much like the artist himself.
Guy Sebastian returns to the Sydney Opera House Forecourt for his only live shows of the year celebrating with his loyal fans 20 years since he was crowned Australia’s very first Australian Idol. It was in this very same venue, on 19th November, 2003 where Australia crowned him the winner.
This bespoke concert under the stars will see Guy delve into his vast array of hits and fan favourites from across his stunning 20-year career.
